Yum

One way that Gideon lets me know he is hungry is by lining up his star wars characters on his placemat on the table.  He rewards them for their help by sharing his food.

Valentine's Day

Two years in a row Mac and I have managed to go overboard for Valentine's day.  We are nuts.  For our Valentine's Day present to each other Mac and I got tickets to a dinner at the zoo where we get to meet penguins and drink cocktails.  Pretty much the best thing ever.  Part of the package is the adoption of two penguins at the zoo and part of the adoption is getting two stuffed penguins which we gave to Gideon.  He was a big fan.

I love how excited he gets about stuff

That guy is definitely his favorite.  We named him Sergio after the penguin in Giddy's favorite books

New tv watching buddies

Later Giddy and I put on our new matching shirts (more presents!) and had a tea party.  It was interesting.

Situation normal

A dinosaur joins us at the table

All great parties involve buckets on heads, right?

After daddy got home Gideon got his last present, a new boat for the bathtub!

So our child is officially spoiled rotten.

Cousin Liyah

Auntie Bethany found herself abruptly between babysitters so Cousin Liyah came to play with us for a few days.  It was crazy, hectic, chaotic, toddler fun (with just a little bit of crying...by me)

Watch for flying blocks

I can't stop laughing at this

Gates are so frustrating for toddlers

Open  Open  Open

Now she likes having blocks on her head

Spending some quality time with their babies

Kiss!

Liyah is taking her baby and getting out of this mad house

Giddy offers some assistance

Just hanging out in the pop up fort

Surprise they were both in there
And of course there are videos:

Magic Mud

Magic Mud Recipe

  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • Food coloring (optional)
Pour some cornstarch in a bowl, add water slowly until mixture is stirrable.  Add cornstarch and water until you get an amorphous solid (flows but has cleavage).  Add a few drops of food coloring and see what happens.

Yep it's that easy.

We have made it a few times, today he seemed to be more into it than before.  Maybe it was all the dinosaurs.

King of the duck face.
